Teaser: Emily + Kurt | Love

Welcome to Lisa Rice Photography, the reincarnation of Written Bliss Photography. :)I am so excited to be breaking in my new blog! My spiffy new logo was designed by Brooke Forry of Claremont Road and Curious and Company. She rocks. Period.

Most of you probably know that I recently quit my full-time day job to spend more time on photography. Of course, then I spent two weeks adjusting to working from home (I’m doing some freelance writing, too). And then I broke my laptop by trying to clean the keyboard … yeah … not so brilliant, I know. And then I got sick for a week.

But now, NOW, I’m back! With a new logo! And new pictures!

Right now I’m working on Emily and Kurt’s engagement session from last month taken at Miami University. They are some of my favorite pictures EVER because the light was so beautiful that day. Here are a few pics for you while I finish up the rest.

Oh, as a side effect of changing my business name I had to make a new Facebook business page. So hey, if you liked me before, would you mind doing it again? My new home on Facebook is here. Thank you!

brooke @ claremont road - Congrats, Lisa! The blog looks fantastic, and thank you for the kind words. It was a pleasure working with you!May 17, 2010 – 9:00 am

Nicole - I love the new look – so clean and fresh. Looking forward to seeing all the great work – I missed having the updates ;(May 17, 2010 – 12:15 pm

Ellie & Patrick | Love

Eeee! I am so excited to share these photos with you! Ellie and Patrick, who live in the D.C. area,  stopped by Columbus on their way through town after Christmas. They suggested we take some pictures in the Nationwide building atrium, which turned out to be an awesome idea. It looks like a jungle in there!

A waterfall? Inside? Yes please!

Patrick got Ellie’s vintage ring at an antique store.

Patrick made Ellie’s face light up every …

single …

time. They melted my heart!

I forgot to mention that the reason they suggested Nationwide was that Ellie’s brother-in-law works there. Her sister’s family tagged along for the session, and of course I couldn’t resist a couple family portraits. Look at that blond hair!

And, as always, I’ll end with my favorite. An outside kiss!

E&P — I’m so glad it worked out for us to meet up! Have an awesome time at your camp wedding in Maryland!

Headed to Cincy!

Hey everyone! No, I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet. I’m still here, behind the scenes, editing sessions and doing business-y stuff on a daily basis.

So sorry for the delay in posting new edits! If you’re waiting to see photos from a December session, rest assured that I’m working on them. I’ve been dealing with a lot of boring but necessary issues such as photo backups and improving my workflow. Doesn’t that sound fun? Workflow? It’s like combining boring stuff you have to do to make money with a woman’s worst enemy. BLECK.

On the bright side, I’ve made great strides in learning how to edit pictures better and faster, even though the learning part has brought about a delay in the posting of photos here.

As proof of this fact, here’s a photo from Ellie and Patrick’s session at the Nationwide building downtown.

And, as you’ve probably guessed from the title of this post, I’m taking a trip to Cincinnati this weekend for a couple shoots!

I’d had a few more planned, but some have fallen through, so I have time to take on a few more clients. If you are interested in an engagement shoot or family shoot in Cincinnati this weekend or know someone who might be, please contact me! Due to the short notice, I’m waiving my shoot fee, so these shoots are free, baby. Oh yeah!

Click the contact page, e-mail me (writtenbliss@gmail.com) or give me a call at 614-507-1135 to schedule!

Hilary + Jon | Love

Hilary and Jon wanted some photos on the Ohio State University campus, since that was where they met. Except for visiting the Horseshoe for football games, I’d never been on campus until a few weeks before, so I was happy to oblige. I love visiting new places!

These two are so cute! Of course, it was cold outside, so they were appropriately bundled up.

Hilary requested some shots in the new OSU library. Have you seen this place?! In-freaking-credible!

I love smooching in the stacks! Did you know that Lin and I had our engagement photos taken in a library?

The love between these two just kills me. *sigh*

They’re having a destination wedding in some tropical locale. I wish I could remember where … and I wish I could go with!;)

Then they took me to this wonderful place called “the number garden.” Oh, so magical!

The one above and the one below were taken inside the number 0. Look at that gorgeous teal tile!

A golden six!

“Get closer, guys … closer … closer! … Almost kiss, but not quite!” (Nuzzle nuzzle)

This last one’s for all you OSU fans out there! O-H!

(Buckeye fans say “I-O!”)

Hilary and Jon, you two were so patient with me — did you realize we spent almost two hours together?! (most of it in the freezing cold?) I loved every minute of your shoot!  Enjoy your pictures and best wishes for your destination wedding! <3

Anna Mae - I love the colors and how bright and bold all of the images are! I am sure this couple is thrilled with your work! :) January 20, 2010 – 1:14 am

MCH - This is a neat shoot. Love the locations. Love photo 2, 3 and 4. And the last one is very cool! Great on a big canvas!March 5, 2010 – 4:48 pm

Carlee + Peter | Engagement Photography | Franklin Park Conservatory

Couldn’t you already tell from my last post how much I like Carlee and Peter? This lawyer/doctor couple in training (they’re still in school) is dynamite in front of the camera.

See what I mean? They’re total naturals. Or that could just be the leaves …;)

Nope! It’s definitely C&P!

And Carlee has the most fantastic blue eyes. See?

And they’re totally in love. I’m so sad I can’t shoot their wedding (it’s on the West Coast)! Fortunately one of Carlee’s friends is an excellent photographer just getting started (kind of like me, Carlee said).:)

Gotta have a ring shot! I just love thinking up new ways to shoot these! This one is at the base of an ancient bonsai tree.

I couldn’t get enough of the light in the desert room at the conservatory. It was gorgeous!

And, of course, I’ll leave you with my favorite from the day. Hott Stuff!

Carlee & Peter, I had so much fun wandering the conservatory with you! Thanks for taking time out of your holiday schedule to drop by and visit with me!

P.S. The holidays were very busy for me, so I have a lot of new shoots to share with you! Watch the blog for more eye candy in the coming days/weeks!

Brit - Love that the shots are in a garden – very pretty!January 3, 2010 – 1:53 am

Carolyn - Carlee and Peter What great pictures! Thank you for sending to me. Carlee, I hope you had a good time in Australia. Love, MommyJanuary 6, 2010 – 6:26 am

Shannon McLaughlin - The 2nd photo made me gasp at my desk. I love these so much, they are too cute <3February 9, 2010 – 6:18 pm
