Corey + Stacia + Kalista + Carter + Shay | Family | Worthington, OH

Meet Kalista and Carter, the adorable progeny of Corey + Stacia.

And don’t forget Shay! This little lady was in a rather bad mood the day of our shoot, but we got a few smiles out of her.:)

Seriously? The cuteness kills.

The pictures below, if you can believe it, were taken in Corey and Stacia’s backyard. Yes, they have chickens. And yes, they live in Columbus, just south of Worthington. From looking at the front of their house, you’d never guess how large and COUNTRY their backyard is. It’s incredible — and I’m incredibly jealous!

Stacia, you are hilarious! (And oh so cute!)

I should mention that if you’re interested in family photos for your Christmas cards, now is the time to book a session. I’m going to be offering a special soon that includes your shoot and customized cards. Contact me via the link above for more information or call me at 614-507-1135.:)

Corey + Stacia + Baby | Maternity | Worthington, OH

I will never forget the first day I met Corey and Stacia. They carried their beautiful brood (they have three other children!) into church and it seemed like the entire building got a little brighter and more cheerful. They just seem to have that knack. I was so thrilled when Stacia agreed to have maternity photos taken. Pregnant women just seem to glow from inside out, don’t you think?

Look at the love in Corey’s face! Awwwwwww. (Psst! He agreed with me that Stacia is freaking beautiful pregnant. But I mean, really, who could disagree?)

They’re waiting to find out whether it’s a boy or a girl. Any guesses? Their oldest is a girl, then a boy, then another girl. Stacia is guessing boy and I thought she was carrying low when I saw her earlier today.

Hello, Little One! We can’t wait to meet you in a few weeks!

Stay tuned for Part Two of this post, which features their other three kiddos. They’re super cute and you don’t want to miss them!

Halley + Eric | Married | Mt. Vernon, OH

Oh man, Halley and Eric’s wedding was gorgeous! The day was perfectly sunny (if a little on the chilly side), and they couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue than Halley’s aunt’s home in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Halley wore these “jelly” style flats under her gown. Comfortable and lovely, don’t you agree?

This girl had a great group of bridesmaids! They were so laid back and helped with everything!

Meanwhile, the guys snuck down to the basement to watch some college football, have a few drinks and smoke some cigars. All the manly stuff really tuckered this little guy out. He fell asleep less than 5 minutes after his dad (at left) made him lay down on the couch. Aww.

Halley’s brothers were so sweet. Later in the evening I caught this same handsome fellow taking each female relative for a spin on the dance floor.

Tears! Halley cried the whole way down the aisle. They kept the ceremony short to minimize the chance that she’d choke up, but no dice.

Just look at the love these two are radiating. I can’t even handle it. Little known fact for those of you who haven’t met me — I am a total sap. I cry at every wedding I photograph! Ceremony moments, toasts and happy dancing are my weak points.

So, funny thing about this wedding: The ceremony was so short that I was worried I’d miss the kiss! I booked it to the back of the aisle in plenty of time, but even if I hadn’t, I needn’t have worried. It was one of the loooong, slow variety. 😉

Halley and Eric weren’t interested in getting a lot of posed shots, but they let me a few minutes alone with them before cocktail hour. Love them!

Time for details!

Another cool story: On their second date, Halley and Eric went to see some live big band/jazz and fell for the band while they were falling for each other. Stoopid Rooster doesn’t play a lot of weddings, but they had to play for this couple. No option! Sorry!:)

These kids crack me up!

Instead of doing a send-off with rice or bubbles or streamers or even sparklers, they opted to have a wish lantern lighting. I had never heard of these before, but it was breathtaking. The guests and I were in awe.

Amelia + Mike | Married | Columbus, OH

Amelia and Mike are one of those couples — He was in the military, so their original ceremony had to be short and sweet before his deployment. Once he came home, safe and sound, they set about to planning their wedding.  And what a wedding it was! Amelia’s sister made her wedding gown. Some minor alterations had to be done at the last minute … as in, Amelia was literally sewed into her dress!

At the ceremony, there was such a sense of peace and “rightness” about this wedding. You can see the look on the priest’s face (and the best man’s, and the maid of honor’s), “It’s about time we made this marriage officially official!”:)

They exited the church in a shower of bubbles …

… and directed the bridal party to change into their reception footwear!

Their June wedding day was a little drizzly, but Amelia and Mike were so laid back about the whole thing.

Congrats, lovebirds! Thanks for letting me celebrate with you.

I took some pics of Amelia and Mike with Mike’s family a few months before, and it was great to reunite with them at the wedding!

Ceremony: Lord of Life Lutheran; Linworth, Ohio
Reception: The Vault; Columbus, Ohio
