About Lisa

I started taking photos when I was ten with an old school camera that used flash cubes. I’m pretty sure I was the only fifth grader in school who didn’t bring a disposable camera to camp. I graduated to my first digital camera in 2002 — a little Canon Powershot. It was terrible.

In college, I started using a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm lens and fell in love with photography. I developed my own film and learned my way around the dark room.

Now I shoot with Canon digital SLRs, which are way better than that old Powershot. I will absolutely take your picture with my Pentax, if you want. You’d look great on film, dahling!

I’m trained as a journalist, but I have the soul of an artist. My work straddles the line between photojournalism and fine art photography.

More about me: I have a serious sweet tooth. I like pretty much everyone I’ve ever met. I don’t have any secrets. I talk a lot and listen even more. I show love by baking. My favorite things are antiques, books, babies, and quiet evenings at home. I’m timid by nature, but brave when it counts. I cry at every wedding I photograph. Vows, toasts and happy dancing bring me to tears every time.
