New business cards

Since debuting my new logo (designed by Brooke of Claremont Road and Curious and Company) a few months ago, I’ve been handing people outdated business cards. I just hadn’t had a chance to get new ones made up!

I had initially wanted to get letterpress cards, but have you checked out the price of letterpress lately? With my logo, which is hand-drawn, I’d need to get custom places made and that is expensive. I’d rather put my cash into gear at this point.Instead, I purchased some custom rubber stamps from Rubberstamps.com.

They turned out great! The handle on the biggest stamp is cool, but if I could do it over again, I wouldn’t pay the extra $3 for it. I tend to hold the stamps by their edges anyway.

Fortunately, I already had a light green ink pad. The only other thing I needed to buy were the cards themselves. I decided on thick, 220-weight Crane Lettra for the cards, and purchased them from a local letterpress shop, Igloo Letterpress, so I wouldn’t have to buy a full pack of paper. You can’t really tell from the photo below, but they’re so lovely to hold! I was a little worried that the thickness of the paper would cause the ink to bleed, but it actually takes the ink very well.

Next time you see me, don’t hesitate to ask for my card. I’ll hand one over gladly!

Making up these cards is a part of the work I’ve been putting in lately to get my packaging squared away so I can deliver my brides their wedding images in style. I’ll show you the rest before I send out my first wedding of the season.
